[SDG] Australian (Oceanic) League of Legends Recruitment
Posted in Announcements, on July 7th 2010, by admin
Shattered Dreams, Oceanic-Gamers is an online gaming community of oceanic players originally formed as a World of Warcraft guild on the US-Caelestrasz server January 2009. Since it’s creation we have expanded into a community of collective gamers alike all focused on 1 goal, team work.
As a community heavily involved in gaming we strive for one thing, team work; we value team work above all else, we specialize in competitive driven game play centered around working with like minded players to achieve goals, defeat set content/opposing teams, and above all else strive for cohesion as a unit.
We’re looking at establishing a few 5v5 and 3v3 teams for season 1, if you’re interested head on over to our site and check out our League of Legends section. All oceanic members are welcome, if you have an interest in LoL but don’t yet wish to get involved in competitive ranked matches check us out anyways
Happy hunting all!

History Lesson
Posted in Announcements, on June 29th 2010, by Renaq
Over the past 1 and half years Shattered Dreams has grown from a small no-name guild with almost no desire to raid in the 25man scene, to a casual raiding power house in ToC, to a free raiding casual ICC guild that has continued meet every management challenge head on and beaten it, even when hope seems without cause.
Shattered Dreams was created almost a year and a half ago by 3 unique individuals, Srvk, Yeye, and Suncore. Their intention was to create a guild in which they could raid content under their own unique guild tag on a casual basis and enjoy what Blizzard had to offer but still see the content through to the end.
Over time a number of smaller guilds broke up and joined our cause, and with the help and perseverance of several like minded players Shattered Dreams continued to grow. Our first expansion saw the recruitment of almost 18 members from the once highly proclaimed guild known as Efficacy.
Over time as specific class needs grew and attendance became a problem due to real life commitments, the next large scale recruitment came in the form of 8 members from the guild known as Dragon Knights, followed by 5 members from the once trade un-friendly Vip-Raiders. With those 2 guilds came one of our current and long running officers Chaoticguard, and a former but still valid member of our community Forshizmyniz, who over time helped to develop and expand Shattered Dreams into the guild it is today.
There have been many leadership changes since Shattered Dreams was first established, none more challenging and mentally demanding than that when Yeye was forced to leave due to real-life circumstances; this sudden departure left power and control to 2 unique yet characteristic individuals whom worked tirelessly together and individually throughout the ToC saga; Shammoo and Renaq, without their efforts, their ground work that they laid down none of what Shattered Dreams has achieved today would be possible.
Unfortunately over time stress, pressure, and desires for greater things eventually tore this leadership apart and ultimately changed a large number of things in the process. One process in particular saw Kaimumma (current officer) and Shiftere promoted, they too have over time helped to develop and expand Shattered Dreams into the guild it is today.
As time grew the leadership expanded even more adding Grimhorn, and achallies to the fray, but due to real-life commitments Renaq had to step down leaving the leadership and the guild in doubt. But as every leadership before them, they held their heads high and continued along a set path that has lead them to where they are today. Not every guild is gifted with a talent pool that can see and down content as fast as a speeding bullet; but for a guild that started off to raid under their own unique tag on a casual basis and enjoy what Blizzard had to offer but still see the content through to the end, Shattered Dreams has followed through with that intention more than almost anyone has expected and delivered on it.
Through skill set problems, attendance, leadership, real-life commitments, the name that is Shattered Dreams has lived on throughout the hearts and minds of many players; some who have moved on, but still to this day carry with them memories of one of the most loyal, entertaining, and casually driven environments that I myself am more than proud to say I was and still am apart of in my own unique way.
As time goes own every guild will be presented with challenges and heartache, some of which would or could never be imagined. But it is those challenges that will shape those guilds and make them stronger; Shattered Dreams will continue to endure these challenges and heartaches; but like every time before we will stand up, and we will endure what ever comes our way.
So let this be a history lesson, for even the most unlikely of faces, unlikely of groups, unlikely of players can change and create something that will change the hearts and minds of many people. Looking back, all I can say is I am more than proud of what Shattered Dreams has achieved, and I’m sure the original creators of this guild would feel the same way too. So as we move forward let us never forget the commitments, the efforts made by our past members, but instead use it to push and drive us forward into the next saga.
For every challenge, will come victory, for every loss will come a lesson; none know this better than Shattered Dreams, believe, be proud, for our history is what makes us who and what we are today.
